Precious Metal Tracking Investment Performance Excel Spreadsheet

  • Release:
    • Version 2.6.5
  • Updated:
    • April 06, 2013
  • Fix:
    • The last release 2.6.4 was not auto-updating the spot prices when the file was opened, just every 15 minutes however. This small problem has been correct. If you are wanting to have the spreadsheet to automatically update when you open the file, then you may download this release. However, it is not essential as the previous version (2.6.4) still works.

Precious Metal Tracking Investment Performance Excel Spreadsheet

  • Release:
    • Version 2.6.3
  • Updated:
    • September 06, 2012
  • Tweak:
    • Market updates have been changed from ForexPro to Kitco, except for Copper spot prices. ForexPro was not displaying totally accurate data, thus we had to revert back to Kitco.
    • Some of the help comments (cells marked by red cornders) were cut out due to the help window being too small. This was not really a usability problem and did not affect the functioning of the spreadsheet which is why it's listed as a tweak.
  • Fix:
    • Scrap Gold data under the Scrap Gold tab was not calculating correctly, except for the first row. The problem was that when the user would go to the second row and further, despite choosing a different karat, all rows would be calculated based on the first row's selected karat by the user. This has now been corrected.

Precious Metal Tracking Investment Performance Excel Spreadsheet

  • Release:
    • Version 2.6.2
  • Updated:
    • August 08, 2012
  • Fix:
    • Summary issue with the Scrap Silver totals. The first row under the Scrap Silver tab had a problem, when cleared, with one formula causing the Summary tab to display a number of value errors. This fix was simple and as since been addressed.
    • Scrap Gold tab had only one row working with the Scrap Gold in the drop down menu. The rest of the rows were showing Scrap Silver options instead. This has now been fixed.
    • The 25th input rows, on many of the different metal tabs, was not being included in the calculations and totals.
  • Add on:
    • Rows, all sheets under each metal's tab now has 500 input rows. No longer are you restricted to the few rows there were. This may be more than enough for most users. If you feel the rows are not enough, be sure to leave a comment or run a message on the contact page.

Precious Metal Tracking Investment Performance Excel Spreadsheet

  • Release:
    • Version 2.6.1
  • Updated:
    • August 06, 2012
  • Tweak:
    • Metal tabs (sheets) input layouts rearranged and tweaked to help make it more efficient. Especially helpful when the user wants to copy their data over when upgrading from an older spreadsheet to a later version.
    • Indian Pennies have been removed due to these coins having more of a numismatic value than weight. So this would not really reflect the true value, thus this particular penny has been removed from the inventory.
  • Fix:
    • When no data was input for copper, under the Summary tab showed the error "#VALUE!." This has been fixed to be blank like the other metals when there is no copper in your inventory.
    • Copper bullion was being miscalculated with the ounce inputs being calcualed as if they were a standard ounce, rather that have noe been adjusted to represent a troy ounce now.

Precious Metal Tracking Investment Performance Excel Spreadsheet

  • Release:
    • Version 2.6
  • Updated:
    • August 04, 2012
  • Major Update:
    • This is not your average update. This worksheet has not only new features but also has been restructured a a little to help make it more efficient! It has more than just a few teaks here and there! There is a new metal added, also lets you know what is included in the current upgrade available, shown under the Summary tab. And more features!
  • Tweak:
    • A few coloring changes were done to help seperate different parts of the spreadsheet. The market open/close part is now in a nice blue color, on each metal tab the spot prices, private & ratio cells have also been recolored to help them stand out apart a little more.
    • Metal updates for spot prices now comes from FOREXPROS which goes through the data page on our website. This is to try to limit having to release too many updates in short periods of time. The spreadsheet was limited to just silver, gold, platinum and palladium. This adds the ability to pull the copper spot price updates as well.
  • Fix:
    • Under the Silver Coins tab, the last 25 of the 100 or so rows were not calculated into the totals. This has since been fixed in this version realease.
  • Add on:
    • Copper tab has now been added! This spreadsheet not only supports Silver, Gold, Platinum & Palladium, but it also supports Copper bullion!
    • Pennies support within the spreadsheet has also been added! The pennies section is under the Copper tab. It supports Indian Head pennies, Wheat pennies and pre 1983 Lincoln pennies. Just put in the quantity of your pennies, and the spreadsheet will do the rest of the calculations and metal value for you.
    • More rows were added to to the Silver Tabs.T
      • The Silver Coins tab went from around 100 rows to 500 rows.
      • The Silver tab, from 50 rows to 100 rows.
      • The Scrap Silver tab, from 50 rows to 100 rows.
    • Input in ounces for Gold, Platinum & Palladium was added also. Now you can input in either grams or ounces, instead of just grams. This helps simplify the spreadsheet for the user when they have these metals with either grams or ounces stamped on it.
